Our Coronavirus Response:

UPDATE (5/14/2021):  The CDC has released new recommendations regarding the removal of masks; however, these recommendations are contingent upon state and local guidelines.  Your church leaders will review any updated NYS guidelines before implementing and publishing any changes to the health and safety protocols outlined below.

Is the church open for in-peron worship?  Yes, we welcome you to worship this Sunday at 9am.  All services are also live-streamed on Facebook: https://facebook.com/stmarkmendon. You'll also find previous weeks' services on the green column on the right side of home page of this site.  In the interest of member & guest health and safety, there are currently no other on-site activities other than worship; however, bible study, Ladies' Aid and other meetings are all hosted virtually on Zoom. For links, please contact our church secretary and specify for which group or event you'd like a link:  secretary@stmarkmendon.org

Must I wear a mask?  Yes, as an exercise in loving our neighbor, masks are required at all times while in the building .

Is the building safe?  In addition to requiring masks, we offer hand santizer and practice social distancing as per federal and state guidelines.  Every week our custodian disinfects hard surfaces such as door handles, stairway rails and pews.  Bathrooms likewise are disinfected.

Touch-free option:  Our hymnals have been removed from the church in favor of print copies of the service with hymns & announcements; however, if you prefer touch-free, a QR code in the lobby allows you to download the service to your smartphone or tablet.  Documents are also sent out by email each week; please contact the church office to be added to the list.  Holy Communion is celebrated each week; worshipers may pick up a prefilled, sealed communion cup and wafer on the way into church. A small bag is provided for disposal.

When will things return to normal?  As more people are vaccinated, we will continue to follow safety protocols.  At present, there is not yet an established target date for increasing our safe seating capacity or for worshiping without a mask.  Until then, please check back here for updates and watch our bulletin announcements and Crossroads newsletter for further details.
